RG146 Tier 1 General Insurance
Our online course provides the essential knowledge and skills required to analyse client needs and deliver ethical, professional general advice on Tier 1 regulated general, personal, and business insurance products. It meets the ASIC training requirements for Australian financial services (AFS) licensing at the Tier 1 level.
To be fully compliant to provide general advice in Tier 1 General Insurance, you must also complete the Generic Knowledge module and be authorised under an AFSL.
About the Course
Insurance is a vital risk-management tool that enables individuals, businesses, and organisations to protect themselves against significant potential losses at an affordable cost.
The Tier 1 General Insurance course is designed for individuals seeking RG146 compliance to provide general advice on regulated Tier 1 insurance products. The program introduces key insurance concepts, including personal, sickness, and accident insurance, and explores the product types available in Australia. You will learn how insurance is regulated, gain a solid understanding of core insurance principles, and explore current trends in insurance product development.
In addition to specialist industry knowledge, the course offers practical guidance on engaging effectively with clients — whether over the phone or in person.
RG146 Tier 1 General Insurance may also be undertaken as a short industry course under Responsible Manager Nomination Option 3, provided the learning is relevant to the sector or products associated with the responsible manager’s role (RG 105.69).
Our Tier 1 compliance programs are also suitable for financial services organisations seeking consistent baseline knowledge across teams or the wider business.
